First Year Apprentice Vacancy

JJ Rhatigan is delighted to offer the Level 8 Quantity Surveying Practitioner Apprenticeship in collaboration with ATU. This is a 4-year programme.

This apprenticeship programme provides a comprehensive blend of on-the-job and off-the-job training, mentorship, and the opportunity to earn while you learn. Additionally, you will work towards a qualification recognised on the National Framework of Qualifications. This is an excellent pathway to kickstart your career with a prestigious Tier 1 Contractor.

Core Activities

• Commercial management (of construction works) or
• Design economics and cost Planning
• Construction technology and environmental services
• Contract practice
• Procurement and tendering
• Project finance (control and reporting)
• Quantification and costing (of construction works)

Main Role, tasks and responsibilities:
• Communication and engagement with colleagues, members of the design team and clients.
• Bills of Quantities.
• Cost management.
• Payment certification.
• Value engineering.
• Conflict avoidance and dispute resolution.
• Procurement strategies.
• Managing Teams.
• Project Management.

Proposed minimum entry requirements for apprentices on the programme:

6 subjects at 06/H, 2 subjects at H5 English or Irish at 06/H7 Maths at 06/H7

5 subjects at 06/H, English or Irish at 06/H7 Maths at 06/H7with a minimum of 344 CAO points. Maths at F2 is acceptable to meet the minimum Maths entry requirement. Irish at F2 is acceptable to meet the minimum language requirement.
